COURSE DESCRIPTION

This 3-day course provides an overview of the PQA Criteria Framework and process on how to prepare the PQA Application Report, as well as guidelines related to the application.

 

COURSE OBJECTIVES

The specific objectives of this criteria for performance excellence are:

  • Communicate the benefits in adopting the PQA Criteria for Performance Excellence.
  • Use of the Seven (7) PQA Criteria to improve the organization.
  • Use of the Evaluation Dimensions in addressing the process and results items.
  • Initially identify the strengths and areas for improvement of the organization.


TARGET AUDIENCE

Attendees should be those seeking to improve the organization through the PQA Criteria based on the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award of the US. Preferably, participants are team leaders and key personnel of the organization.

LEARNING SESSION PROCESS

This course will utilize a variety of proven adult learning techniques to ensure maximum understanding, comprehension and retention of the information presented. This includes facilitator-led discussions, small group discussions, presentations and role-playing exercises. On the other hand, if classroom setup is not applicable because of the pandemic situation, then we will do it via a secure online platform.

Engr. Angelica Cortero Fraginal is currently the Managing Director and Senior Consultant of ACF Consultancy and Training Services, an organization she established to provide quality, value-added management systems training and consultancy services to help organizations achieve their vision statements. Organizations she is assisting include those from Logistics, Manufacturing, Academe, Healthcare, BPO, Constructions, Travel Services, Insurance and the Public Sector. She did consultancy works not only in the Philippines but also in Malaysia and China. By profession, she is an Industrial Engineer. She is an Examiner/Assessor of the Philippine Quality Award (PQA) and is currently the longest serving Assessor in the Philippines. She also serves as Examiner of the Global Performance Excellence Award administered by the APQO. She is also part of the Technical Working Group of the Philippine Quality Award reviewing the Performance Excellence Criteria for the Education, Healthcare and Public Sectors. In addition, she was a former Country Counselor of the American Society for Quality, Inc. representing the Philippines. She was also past president of the Philippine Society for Quality, Inc. elected for several terms. She also served as General Manager of the Asia Pacific Quality Organization, which includes organization representing countries like Australia, China, Chile, Canada, India, Indonesia, Iran, Korea, Malaysia, Mexico, Nepal, New Zealand, Pakistan, Philippines, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand, United Arab Emirates, United States and Vietnam. Currently, she is one of the Deputy Regional Directors of the American Society for Quality. She is a recipient of an international award given by the Asia Pacific Quality Organization for her contribution to the said organization to promote quality and performance excellence in the Asia Pacific Region. In the Philippines, she received various awards from the Philippine Society for Quality, Inc. for her outstanding dedication and volunteerism to promote quality awareness and practices, namely the “Miguel Unson”, “Angel Opena” and “Hall of Fame” Awards. She has performed substantial services which contributed to the progress and development of the Society. A Former President of the Philippine Society for Quality, Inc. (PSQ) and is currently a PSQ Board Trustee. In addition, she is also a recipient of various national awards, such as: “Philippine Top Choice Outstanding Achiever Award” for her untiring endeavor, dedicated perseverance, significant and noteworthy achievement in management consulting and training services conferred by the Philippine Top Choice Awards Council, Communication Event Management Inc. and Philippines Top Choice Magazine; and an Award for ACF Consultancy and Training Services, an organization she manages, for having been chosen as an Outstanding Management Consulting and Training Organization in the Philippines. She is a recipient of the “Sumagang Award”, conferred by the Local Government Unit for her contributions in the development, promotion and progress, not only of private but public sector, as well. Prior to establishing her own consultancy firm, she was a full-time Consultant on Quality and Productivity in San Miguel Corporation, one of the best managed organization in the Philippines, where she gained valuable hands-on experience in quality and productivity management, both local and international.  She started her career in San Miguel Corporation as a Campus Recruitment Trainee, Industrial Engineer, and Production Services Manager and as a Consultant.
