Recognition for Proficiency in Quality Management

SunPower Philippines Manufacturing Ltd.

SunPower defined its Vision as: "We Change the Way the World is Powered".  With a mission of: We will Install at  Least 10 Gigawatt of Solar by 2015.

Solar Cell Manufacturing and Module Manufacturing constitute the Philippine Manufacturing operations of SunPower Corporation, the global leader in manufacturing the highest efficient solar modules for homes, businesses, commercial buildings and power plants.

The organization has three manufacturing sites in the Philippines: Solar Cell Manufacturing (Fab1) and Module Manufacturing (SPMM) in Binan, Laguna and Solar Cell Manufacturing (Fab2) in Sto. Tomas, Batangas. Fab1 & Fab2 produce solar cells for  delivery to ModCo which assembles solar panels.

SunPower  Philippines  began in March 2004 which started with 25MW/year and has grown from one (1) production line to twenty (20) lines today with combined output of  ~600MW/yr.  The  overall Solar Cells & Module Manufacturing land area is ~20  hectares. Solar Cell Manufacturing uses state of the art equipment  with 21 process steps while Module Manufacturing has 5 major process  steps.  These process steps enable  SunPower to produce solar panel with 20% efficiency, a leader in the world. With the continuous technology aggressiveness of SunPower, they offer to the market 72cell-module, 96-cell module to biggest 128cell-module and  aesthetically pleasing design. Hence their slogan is "MORE WATTS, LOOKS GREAT!"

They began with a handful of employee from ~400 to ~5,000 employees and continuously  growing. The demographic profile is as  follows: Male - 75%, Female - 25%; Education - engineering (80%), technical  (10%), and others (10%). Some 95% are  college graduates, while 3% have Advance Degrees. Approximately 60% of employees have joined within the last three years. The company is non-unionized, with no record of strikes, and turnover is low at 3.8% with utmost concern for Safety of every employee. SunPower is  a strong advocate of Corporate Social Responsibilities and established several company employee committees, donated solar systems to remote schools, provided aids to typhoon  victims, and played a big part in project Sinag - the first Philippine solar  powered race car that participated in Adelaide Australia in 2007.

Mariwasa Siam Ceramics Inc.

Mariwasa  Siam Ceramics, Inc. is the result of the merger of two giant companies in the Philippines and Thailand.  Mariwasa Manufacturing Inc., the leader in  ceramic tile industry in the country and the Siam Cement Group of Companies, a  highly respected organization in Thailand  and in Asia.   The company is established to cater the growing demands of the more  scrupulous customers both from domestic and international market.

With the recent trend, industries are moving outside of Manila to the South, which  has brought Mariwasa Siam Ceramics Inc. to its present location. Strategically  settled at Brgy. San Antonio,  Sto. Tomas Batangas, it has a capability to provide floor, wall and specially  designed ceramic tiles. Such ability to cater to the demands of a  multi-sectorial level of customers.

The whole tile plant produces a capacity of more than 30,000  sqm.of output daily. Its floor tile plant is capable of producing from simple  to complex applications, from plain, marble to rustic designs. The wall tile  plant utilizes different technology based on processes which are the double  fast firing and 3rd Firing, with the ability to produce plain to  printed tiles. The manufacture of intricately-designed ceramic tiles for both  floor and wall tiles offer a wide range of products, i.e. listels, borders,  singles/spot or accents and murals. These tiles can be applied to residential  and commercial areas, hotels, condominiums and other establishments. The wide  array of colors & design is also made available for customers' different  and varied taste.

Mariwasa Siam Ceramics, Inc. utilizes the latest and  effective technology in terms of manufacturing processes for ceramic tiles. It employs highly competent personnel to ensure product quality through the  continuous product research and development, and training and development of  its personnel. The company also utilizes the assistance of foreign experts to  assist both in the research and development and operation. This, further  strengthens the edge of Mariwasa in the development of highly competitive  products in the market.

Mariwasa Siam Ceramics was  formally launched on June 4, 1997.  The  date marked the first commercial production of its then floor tile plant. The  company regularly introduces new design series for both floor and wall tiles to  further solidify its position in the market, Mariwasa produces different sizes  of glazed wall and floor tiles of various designs, colors and textures.

Mariwasa distributes  its ceramic tiles through exclusive and non-exclusive dealers who sell to  end-users or retail the product themselves. Mariwasa currently has over 60  active dealers spread throughout the country.

RCM Manufacturing Inc.

RCM Manufacturing Incorporated is a  wholly owned subsidiary of Philips Respironics, Hong Kong Limited. It is under  the Philips Home Healthcare Solution Division with Headquarters located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania,   USA. Home  Healthcare Solutions belongs to the Healthcare Sector of Royal Philips  Electronics.

Organized in June 17, 1996 and  officially started its operations in Subic Bay Freeport Zone in 1997, RCM  Manufacturing Incorporated is engaged in the manufacturing of medical devices  for Patient Interface and Respiratory Drug Delivery market. These products  provide solutions to people with sleep and breathing disorders.

Consistent with Philips Home Healthcare's core practices of  hiring the best, retaining the best and accepting no less, the Company boasts of its pool of highly competent Associates comprising of 320 regular and  outsourced employees. The Company is 100 percent run and managed by Filipino  Managers.

To support the increasing demand for capacity, RCM relocated  its entire operations to Carmelray Industrial Park 1 in Canlubang, Calamba, Laguna in June 2006 and is presently conducting its manufacturing operations  under the jurisdiction of Philippine Economic Zone Authority.

RCM manufacturing operations comprises of molding and  assembly processes. Medical device components made from Liquid silicon, silicon  rubbers and polycarbonate materials are molded using new injection technologies  and are assembled into nasal masks finished products. RCM products cater the  market for people with obstructive sleep apnea and breathing problems,  worldwide.

To ensure that the company is consistently producing good  quality products, the RCM Quality Management System is compliant to and certified  in ISO 13485:2003 Quality Standards and is regulated by the US FDA Code of  Federal Regulation # 21 Part 820 which is commonly known as the United States  Food and Drugs Administration Quality System Regulations.  RCM products are 100 percent exported to the United States  and distributed worldwide.

RCM Manufacturing  Incorporated is a recipient of the Subic Bay Top Corporate Award given Subic  Bay Metropolitan Authority, Productivity and Quality Award given by the  Employers Confederation of the Philippines (ECOP) and is a Certified Investors  in People (IiP) Organization.
